Belkin Tablet Stage Stand – iPad Document Camera Stand

This stand replaced a document camera that was attached to the computers in the past.  However, it does not function in the same way as the document camera did.  It is only a stand to hold the iPad on which you can use the camera as a document camera.

Here are steps to use the Belkin stand in a similar way as you might have used a document camera with your iPad:

  1. Before projecting, turn on DO NOT DISTURB.  When you swipe up from the bottom of your iPad screen, tap the moon symbol.
  2. Lock the device in the landscape mode.  Turn on the lock rotation if the mute function is on by going to Settings > General > Location Rotation.
  3. Set Autolock to Never while doing your presentation but set it back to 15 minutes when you are finished.
  4. To begin projecting, start AirPlay on your iPad OR connect the adapter and cables to the iPad.
  5. Put the iPad in the cradle with the camera and front of the iPad facing upwards.
  6. Zoom in/out using the pinch and expand motions.
  7. Pressing the green button on the cradle allows the iPad to be released from the stand.
  8. Aspect ratio should be set to 4:3 – press button #5 on the projector remote to set this.
  9. The SMART Board functions are not able to be used with this set up.
  10. The Stage Pro app allows for you to annotate, add images, use writing paper, etc.   Place an IT ticket to request this app.
  11. Taking a picture of what you annotated will allow you to save and upload the image for later use.
